In accordance with Order No. 67 dated July 18, 2024, on the basis of the Republican State Enterprise "Scientific Research Institute of Balneology and Medical Rehabilitation" of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a branch "Medical and wellness complex "Burabai" was established.
The Burabai LOCK is equipped with modern medical equipment that meets international standards and offers patients a wide range of medical and service services. The complex provides a high level of service and comfort.
The main task of the branch is to provide effective rehabilitation and health–improving programs that take into account the individual requirements and medical indications of each patient. Among the priority areas of the branch's work:
Rehabilitation of children and adolescents (from 10 to 18 years old) with diseases of the bronchopulmonary system, including tuberculosis in the inactive phase;
Rehabilitation of patients over the age of 18 with diseases of the bronchopulmonary system, including tuberculosis in the inactive phase.

The main functions of the accounting department cover the formation of accounting policy, preparation of documents and reports, provision of information on the activities of the Institute, accounting for transactions and property, participation in the analysis of activities and the introduction of information systems.
The structure and procedure for the formation of the accounting department are determined by the staffing table, the management of the chief accountant and job descriptions approved by the director of the Institute.
The organization has a medical and diagnostic department, which provides rehabilitation of patients with respiratory diseases, using: climatotherapy, physical therapy, coumysotherapy, physiotherapy procedures, halocamera, phytotherapy, massage. These rehabilitation methods cause capillary dilation, decrease platelet aggregation and decrease blood viscosity, improve bronchial patency and promote more efficient diffusion of oxygen into the blood, increase blood oxygen capacity, improve blood supply to the brain, heart, kidneys and liver.
Of the physiotherapeutic procedures in our conditions, the following are mainly used:
- electrotherapy: electrophoresis (administration of drugs through the skin, endonosally, on joints), milta - magneto–laser therapy, ultrasound - used to improve blood circulation in the lungs, stimulate sputum discharge, prevent adhesions in the pleural cavity, sclerosis of lung tissue, as well as reflex action on the respiratory apparatus.
- Darsonval, magnetic therapy (DDT, SMT), electro-sleep - used for
reducing psychogenic effects on the external respiratory apparatus and improving the work of the respiratory center.
- light treatment (UFO, Solux, light baths, Bioptron) is advisable to use mainly as a method of non-specific increase in the reactivity of the body.
- Salt chamber (speleocamera), inhalation with herbs or medicines occupy the first place in the rehabilitation of patients with respiratory diseases.
- Physical therapy – is conducted under the supervision of trained instructors, according to specially developed methods of therapeutic respiratory gymnastics, group and individual method.
An innovative technique of "respiratory gymnastics for patients who have suffered a coronavirus infection" has been developed and implemented (the innovative technology was introduced in 2023).
Morning exercises are conducted daily with all patients of the rehabilitation center. Individual classes with the use of simulators are conducted according to the appointment of doctors.
Classes are being held to teach Nordic walking techniques (innovative technology introduced in 2022).
During active physical therapy, breathing deepens, which entails increased ventilation of the lungs, followed by increased redox processes of the body. Metabolism increases, as a result of which the protective immune system of the body is stimulated, which contributes to the cure of the nonspecific chronic process of the respiratory system.
- Climatotherapy is carried out in the form of aero- and hydrotherapy. Permanent natural factors include: sunlight, air, positive emotions caused by the beauty of nature, a change in the environment, a change in the usual way of life.
- Hydrotherapy is carried out in the form of rubdowns, bathing in the summer in the lake.
Since January 2018, a balneological department has been opened, where procedures are performed for all patients on a paid basis:
-mud treatment,
-hydrotherapy: coniferous baths, bischofite baths, sea salt baths,
-ozokeritotherapy,
-phyto bottle,
-sauna.
- Aerotherapy is carried out in the form of oxygen saturation of the body with the help of oxygen-fortified cocktails, as well as through active ventilation of wards, mass walks, outdoor games.
- Terrencourt - dosed walking in the fresh air, prescribed by doctors to all patients to improve respiratory functions (2021).
It has a restorative effect on the body. The amazing purity of the air filled with the aroma of pine needles, the peculiar vegetation, the view of the surrounding surroundings makes the walk fascinating and useful. - Massage is performed manually and mechanically strictly as prescribed by doctors, depending on the patient's well-being, taking into account contraindications for concomitant diseases.

Psychosensory classrooms. In department No. 3, individual and group psychological trainings and psychological counseling are conducted by a psychologist in the psychosensory office. Many somatic diseases are basically the consequences of stress and conflict. The psychologist, revealing the "inner picture of the disease" outlines tactical and strategic methods of psychotherapeutic influence, taking into account the individuality of the patient. Psychological support gives a person confidence, thereby improving their quality of life.
Clinical laboratory - clinical and biochemical blood and urine tests are carried out on modern equipment.

The physical therapy halls are equipped with modern equipment. A multifunctional simulator, simulators for training individual muscle groups, there are exercise bikes, treadmills, sets of gymnastic objects.
The practice of the department has introduced the technique of respiratory gymnastics for respiratory diseases, exercise therapy and massage.
The physical therapy instructor determines the degree of limitation of the patient's physical abilities and possible ways of his recovery. For this purpose, a special complex of therapeutic gymnastics is selected for the patient, taking into account the disease, its clinical manifestations, age and physical condition of the body. In addition to gymnastics, the physical therapy instructor, if indicated, prescribes exercises on simulators.
The medical massage rooms are equipped with multi-section massage tables. Hardware massage is performed on relaxation and massage complexes of various modifications: Seragem.
For the rehabilitation of patients with bronchopulmonary pathology, the department has a medicinal, herbal inhaler. Expectorants, bronchodilators, as well as various phyto-fees are used for inhalation.
Halotherapy is a treatment method based on staying in an artificially created microclimate of salt caves. The LDO has halocamers (located in departments No. 1, No. 3), where the patient's stay allows treating such ailments as Bronchial asthma, COPD, Chronic bronchitis, and the long-term consequences of tuberculosis in a short time and with the least inconvenience. Staying in a salt cave has a positive effect on bronchial asthma, COPD and other diseases of the upper and lower respiratory tract.
