The Round table "The status of a medical worker: professional recognition, rights, responsibility and support."

On June 17, 2026, the Bolashak Association of Fellows of the International Scholarship of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a round table on the topic "The status of a medical worker: professional recognition, rights, responsibility and support."

The event was attended by deputies of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, representatives of the expert community, graduates of the Bolashak program, heads of medical organizations and healthcare professionals.

Director of the Research Institute of Balneology and Medical Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayagul Kairgeldina made a presentation on the topic "The status of a medical worker in a sanatorium-resort organization: modern challenges and development prospects in the Republic of Kazakhstan".

In her speech, she noted that the medical worker of the sanatorium-resort organization is a key participant in the system of preserving and restoring public health. His activities go far beyond the traditional treatment process and cover disease prevention, medical rehabilitation, strengthening the health of citizens and the formation of a healthy lifestyle culture.

Special attention was paid to the issues of improving the professional and social status of medical workers in the sanatorium sector in the context of the modernization of the healthcare system of the Republic of Kazakhstan. According to Sayagul Kairgeldina, the effectiveness of the development of the national system of medical rehabilitation, sanatorium treatment and medical tourism largely depends on the level of training of specialists, their motivation and public recognition.

Separately, the director of the Research Institute of Balneology and Medical Rehabilitation emphasized the importance of the Bolashak program for the development of the medical rehabilitation and balneology system in Kazakhstan. Being a graduate of this program, she noted that the training of domestic specialists in leading foreign educational and scientific centers allowed laying the foundation for the modernization of the industry, the introduction of the best international practices and the formation of a modern scientific school of balneology in the country. In her opinion, investments in human capital have become one of the key factors in the formation and further development of the Russian system of sanatorium treatment and medical rehabilitation.

During the discussion, it was emphasized that supporting medical professionals, creating favorable conditions for their professional growth, ensuring decent social guarantees, and strengthening the prestige of medical professions should remain among the priorities of government policy in the field of healthcare and social protection of the population.

The participants of the round table exchanged views on topical issues of improving legislation, social support for medical workers and increasing the role of the medical community in the development of the national healthcare system.
