On April 23, Kazakhstan celebrates National Book Day and Librarian’s Day — dates dedicated to highlighting the special role of books as a source of knowledge, culture, and the spiritual development of society.
The Scientific Research Institute of Balneology and Medical Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan is consistently working to promote reading and preserve the country’s literary heritage. Thus, 2025 was declared the Year of the Book, within which a series of cultural, scientific, and educational events were held among the academic community, patients, and visitors. A digital library for the sanatorium and resort sector has been developed, providing access to specialized knowledge and scientific materials.
At the Institute’s branch, the Medical and Health Complex “Burabay,” a library with a collection of more than 20,000 books is available for patients and visitors, creating comfortable conditions for reading and self-development.
The Institute consistently supports the development of a reading culture, considering it an important factor in personal and professional growth. We are confident that interest in books contributes to broadening horizons, developing critical thinking, and strengthening intellectual potential.
An important step in this direction was the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Scientific Research Institute of Balneology and Medical Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the National Academic Library of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The document is aimed at developing scientific cooperation, knowledge exchange, and preserving professional heritage in the field of sanatorium-resort treatment and medical rehabilitation.
The development of reading culture and the expansion of access to knowledge remain priority directions of the Institute’s activities.
