Experts discussed the establishment of a network of georesorts and the development of balneology in Kazakhstan

At the Research Institute of Balneology and Medical Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a working meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Institute’s Director, Sayagul Kairgeldinova, with the participation of leading experts in geosciences and the development of resort territories. The meeting brought together Saida Nigmatova, Chair of the UNESCO National Committee for Geoparks, Deputy Director of the K.I. Satpayev Institute of Geological Sciences, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences; Alfred Akbashev (Republic of Bashkortostan), Chairman of the Eurasian Geoparks Network Association; and Sergey Dmitriev (Yekaterinburg, Russian Federation), President of the “Sankur-Evolution” Resort Development Association.
During the meeting, key directions for the formation of a national network of geoparks in Kazakhstan were discussed, along with prospects for interdisciplinary cooperation. Special attention was given to the digitalization of the industry, the exchange of international experience, and the implementation of joint projects aimed at advancing balneology and ensuring the sustainable development of territories.
The Research Institute of Balneology and Medical Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan continues to strengthen partnerships with international and expert organizations, contributing to the adoption of advanced practices and the sustainable development of resort and recreational areas.
