The IX International Congress on Balneotherapy was held in Moscow.

On March 19-20, 2026, Moscow hosted the IX International Congress "Balneotherapy in Sanatorium Treatment and Medical Rehabilitation Programs", dedicated to World Water Day.
The event brought together leading experts in the field of healthcare, science and balneology. The congress was attended by representatives of relevant government agencies and organizations, including the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, the FMBA of Russia, the Russian Academy of Sciences, as well as industry structures in the field of natural resources, tourism and education.
The geography of the participants covered 9 countries, 52 subjects of the Russian Federation, the total number of participants was 668 people.
As part of the business program, Natalia Modina, Head of the Department of Testing and Expertise of Natural Resources, delivered a report on the topic "Balneological potential of Kazakhstan". In her speech, she presented the key areas of balneology development in Kazakhstan, and also outlined the country's significant potential in using natural healing resources in the system of sanatorium treatment and medical rehabilitation.
The Congress has become an important international platform for the exchange of experience, discussion of modern approaches and strengthening cooperation in the field of balneology and medical rehabilitation.
