Meeting of the Academic Council Held at the Research Institute of Balneology and Medical Rehabilitation

A meeting of the Academic Council was held at the Research Institute of Balneology and Medical Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, the agenda was approved and key issues related to the planning and organization of the Institute’s scientific activities for the upcoming period were reviewed.

The main focus of the participants was on the consideration of the report on the implementation of the strategic plan indicators for the effectiveness of research, innovation, and intellectual activities for 2025. Following the discussion, the work carried out was given a positive assessment, and priority areas of scientific activity for 2026 were identified.

Within the framework of the meeting, the Academic Council approved its work plan, the Institute’s plan of scientific events and business trips for 2026, as well as the composition of temporary research teams and the technical specifications for scientific projects planned for implementation.

A separate item on the agenda addressed issues related to the regulatory and ethical support of scientific research. Members of the Academic Council approved amendments to the Regulations and Standard Operating Procedures of the Local Bioethics Committee required to undergo compliance certification.

In addition, proposals were discussed on the development of cooperation with the National Academy of Sciences under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in terms of conducting joint scientific research.
Appropriate decisions were adopted by the Academic Council on all agenda items.

We would like to remind that the Academic Council has been functioning at the Institute since September 11, 2025; the Regulations and its personal composition have been approved. The Local Ethics Committee continues its work. In 2025, an application was submitted for republican accreditation of the Institute’s Local Bioethics Committee, with the accreditation scheduled for 2026 in accordance with the timetable of the Central Bioethics Committee.

The Institute is implementing scientific and technical programs within the framework of program-targeted and grant-based funding.
Based on the results of scientific activities in 2025, scientific articles were published in international and national peer-reviewed journals, certificates of registration of copyright objects were obtained, and methodological guidelines on medical rehabilitation were issued.

Currently, the “Guide to Sanatorium and Resort Treatment of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Experience and Development Prospects” and the Atlas of Therapeutic Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan are being prepared for publication, and a Digital Library of the sanatorium and resort sector has been established.
