On January 5, the Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, gave a comprehensive interview to a reporter of the republican newspaper Turkistan, in which he outlined the key directions of the new stage of the country’s modernization. The President emphasized that this concerns not only the continuation of institutional and economic reforms, but also a transition to a development model based on modern education, the growth of human capital, as well as mutual social responsibility between citizens and the state.

The address by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Kemelovich Tokayev, serves as an important strategic guideline for the further development of the country, including in the fields of healthcare and tourism. The priorities highlighted are fully aligned with the objectives of the medical rehabilitation and sanatorium-resort treatment system and hold significant potential for strengthening the nation’s health and promoting sustainable economic growth.

Particularly noteworthy is the Head of State’s focus on the development of medical tourism. The President noted that several cities in Kazakhstan have already become sought-after destinations for foreign patients seeking high-quality examinations and treatment. This is compelling evidence of the high standard of domestic medicine and simultaneously underscores the great prospects of the sanatorium-resort sector. Our institute, specializing in resortology and medical rehabilitation, is already contributing to the implementation of these goals through scientific research, the improvement of health and wellness methods, and the systematic training of qualified personnel.

We also welcome the President’s emphasis on supporting healthcare workers. Substantial increases in salaries and the strengthening of the social status of medical professionals serve as a powerful incentive for the overall development of the sector.

Regarding tourism development, the Head of State rightly highlighted Kazakhstan’s unique potential in eco-tourism and ski recreation. Our institute sees a significant synergy here with medical tourism: natural therapeutic factors—clean air, mineral springs, and the favorable climate of Burabay and other regions—provide a solid foundation for effective sanatorium-resort wellness. We are ready to actively participate in the creation of modern wellness clusters attractive to both domestic and international tourists, combining high-quality recreation with rehabilitation and disease prevention.

I am confident that, thanks to a consistent state policy, Kazakhstan will secure a worthy place on the global map of medical and wellness tourism. The team of our institute is ready to make its professional contribution to achieving these strategic goals for the benefit of the health and prosperity of the people of Kazakhstan.
