Second Meeting of the Working Subgroup on Traditional Medicine of the Organization of Turkic States

A regular meeting of the Subgroup on Traditional Medicine of the Organization of Turkic States was held online. The meeting was attended by healthcare experts, representatives of government bodies, and the scientific community from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Türkiye.
Participants discussed issues related to strengthening cooperation in the field of traditional medicine, exchanging experience, and developing joint initiatives. It was noted that the Organization of Turkic States serves as a key platform for expanding interaction among countries united by a shared historical and cultural heritage.
A report titled “Results of the 10th Anniversary International Scientific and Practical Forum ‘Shipazhai-2025’” was delivered by Marlan Yesilbayev, Head of the Department of Marketing and International Cooperation of the Research Institute of Balneology and Medical Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He presented information on the history of the forum, its goals, objectives, and key outcomes.
During the meeting, participants also discussed the role of traditional medicine in the context of globalization and technological development, as well as approaches to developing recommendations for its advancement in the OTS member states for 2025–2026.
Following the meeting, participants agreed that an important priority is the development of a unified approach to promoting medical tourism services of the OTS member states.
