Work continues in Kazakhstan to ensure that citizens have access to medical services within the framework of the Compulsory Social Health Insurance (CSHI) system.

According to the presented data, the population of the country is 20.4 million people.

Of these, 16.8 million citizens (82.3%) are already covered by health insurance.

At the same time, 3.6 million people remain uninsured — primarily individuals capable of paying contributions independently, as well as citizens who are temporarily unemployed.

Starting January 1, 2026, CSHI contributions for certain categories of the population will be paid by local executive authorities based on the Digital Family Card. This measure is aimed at expanding access to medical care and enhancing the social protection of citizens.

To receive medical services under the CSHI system, it is important to be registered with a clinic at your place of residence and regularly check your insurance status.
