International Conference "Development of Medical Tourism in the Republic of Kazakhstan"

From September 24–26, 2025, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan held the first International Conference "Development of Medical Tourism in the Republic of Kazakhstan" in Aktau.
Medical agents from around the world participated in the conference. The event was organized as part of a government initiative to promote the export potential of domestic healthcare and develop a sustainable system of inbound medical tourism.
Particular attention was paid to the development of medical tourism and spa treatment. Sayagul Kairgeldina, Director of the Research Institute of Balneology and Medical Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, presented a panel session on the topic "Development of Spa Locations: Using Kazakhstan's Sanatoriums as an Example."
The trip also included a meeting with the Vice Minister of Health and heads of medical organizations in the Mangystau Region. The prospects for medical tourism and the development of the spa industry in the region were discussed.
The institute's delegation visited several tourist and health resorts, including the Nur, Saya, and Shagala sanatoriums. An infrastructure assessment was conducted and advisory and methodological assistance was provided.
