Strengthening international cooperation in the field of traditional medicine

On December 1, 2024, the fifth meeting of foreign ministers in the China-Central Asia format was held in Chengdu (Sichuan Province, China). Following the meeting, the heads of the foreign ministries of the six countries agreed to deepen mutual study of cultures and strengthen the foundations of long-term friendship.
As part of the agreements reached, China will provide 1,500 educational opportunities for training specialists from Central Asian countries in priority areas over three years. Two face-to-face and three online courses were planned in Sichuan Province in May and June of this year.
From May 12 to 17, a course on training in unique methods of diagnosis and treatment of traditional Chinese medicine was held. It was attended by Kanat Tekebayev, Deputy Director for Organizational and Methodological Work of the Research Institute of Balneology and Medical Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The course program is aimed at expanding mutual training and practical interaction between specialists from Central Asian countries and China. The participants listened to lectures, visited leading medical and scientific institutions of the province, got acquainted with the advanced experience of the Chinese side, exchanged opinions and discussed prospects for further cooperation. Upon completion of the training, all participants received the relevant certificates. The Research Institute of Balneology and Medical Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan continues to expand international cooperation in order to introduce advanced experience and strengthen the healthcare system aimed at maintaining and improving the health of the population.
