Delegation of the Research Institute of Balneology and Medical Rehabilitation Participated in the Eighth Meeting of SCO Health Ministers

The Eighth Meeting of Health Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states was held in Xi'an (PRC).

The delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan was headed by Deputy Minister of Health Timur Muratov. The official mission included representatives of the Research Institute of Balneology and Medical Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, led by the Institute's Director Sayagul Kairgeldina, Head of Rehabilitation Department No. 2 of the Institute’s branch, the Burabay Health and Wellness Complex, Saule Egizbayeva, and Chief Specialist of the Marketing and International Cooperation Department Madina Kalkesheva.

The participants of the meeting discussed key issues in the development of disaster medicine, the improvement of medical care systems, the introduction of digital technologies into healthcare, and the expansion of cooperation in the field of traditional medicine.

In his speech at the meeting, Deputy Minister Timur Muratov emphasized Kazakhstan's commitment to strengthening multilateral cooperation within the SCO framework, based on the principles of mutual trust, pragmatism, and consideration of common interests. At the end of the meeting, a final Protocol was signed.

The Research Institute of Balneology and Medical Rehabilitation continues to actively develop its international cooperation efforts, including establishing partnerships with the PRC to create Traditional Chinese Medicine centers, staff training, and experience exchange.
