Damir Sabyrovich, tell us, how is balneology developing in our country?

In recent years, we have seen a steady increase in interest in preventing diseases and improving the health of the population of Kazakhstan. Efficient use of our unique natural resources has become one of the key areas. The state actively supports the development of balneology, and this is reflected in the growing popularity of sanatorium treatment.

What government initiatives and projects have played a significant role in supporting and developing the industry?

One of the important factors is government support. For example, more than 8,000 patients have been treated at our institute over the past year, and we treated 7,000 patients over the previous year. This shows the high level of trust in our institution, which is accredited as a subject of scientific activity. It is also worth noting the holding of the annual Shipazhay International Forum, with the support of the Ministry of Health, where leading experts discuss new approaches and developments in the field of balneology.

What scientific projects and developments are being implemented at your institute?

We are developing drafts of regulatory legal acts aimed at the development of the sanatorium industry. We provide advisory and methodological assistance to sanatorium-resort institutions in Kazakhstan. What is the place of patients with bronchopulmonary pathology in your medical and wellness complex?

Today, the Burabay Medical Center is a modern medical and wellness facility where vacationers with nonspecific diseases of the bronchopulmonary system (bronchitis, asthma, COPD, pleurisy, etc.) undergo rehabilitation.

Balneology in Kazakhstan is developing dynamically. Thanks to government support, our natural resources and scientific research, we have achieved significant success. This allows us to look confidently into the future and continue to develop the industry.

The Government of Kazakhstan has approved a concept for the development of the tourism industry in the country for the period up to 2029. The promising project provides for the promotion of a number of major tourist destinations, such as the development of the resorts of Kok Zhailau and South Kaskelen.
