Kazakhstan and China strengthen cooperation in the field of healthcare

As part of the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and China, the Presidents of the two countries, Kassym–Jomart Tokayev and Xi Jinping, confirmed their intention to strengthen bilateral relations based on friendship, peaceful neighborhood and mutual respect.
In September 2024, a delegation led by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Akmaral Alnazarova, held talks with the Chinese side aimed at developing cooperation in the field of science, new technologies, pharmaceutical production and experience exchange.
In the period from January 17 to January 26, 2025, 46 representatives of the Kazakhstan Branch Trade Union of Healthcare Workers "AQNIET", including members of the Central Committee, representatives of the Executive Committee and chairmen of primary trade union organizations made a working trip to China.
Burabai district was represented by Tolkyn Abeldinova, Chairman of the Scientific Research Institute of Balneology and Medical Rehabilitation of the Burabai LOC.
During the visit, the delegation visited the leading medical institutions of Urumqi: the State City Hospital, the Center for Motherhood and Childhood, as well as a dental clinic. During the meetings, Q&A conferences were held, where the parties discussed topical issues of healthcare development. Kazakhstani specialists also got acquainted with the latest technological developments in the field of medicine and took part in a meeting with representatives of the Center for Chinese Traditional Medicine.
The Kazakh delegation was received by the Secretary General of the Medical Region of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, as well as the chief doctors, medical specialists and representatives of the regional health administration.
At the end of the visit, the participants expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and support for the initiative to develop medical tourism, exchange experience and further strengthen cooperation between Kazakhstan and China.
