On January 21, 2025, the first meeting of the Traditional Medicine Subgroup of the Organization of Turkic States took place online. The event was attended by healthcare experts, government officials, and representatives of the scientific community from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Turkey.

The main goal of the Organization of Turkic States is to strengthen peace and stability, expand areas of cooperation and relations, and develop the potential of the member states. Moreover, considering the rich history of Turkic-speaking countries, the organization acts as a bridge between its member states in deepening international cooperation in the region.

The Head of the Marketing and International Cooperation Department of the Research Institute of Resortology and Medical Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan, Marlan Esilbayev, presented a report on the topic "Traditional Medicine in Kazakhstan." In his speech, he emphasized the role of traditional medicine in the country's healthcare system, highlighted key areas for its development, and integration into modern medical practices.

Marlan Esilbayev proposed the creation of a unified map of the Turkic world, which would display the locations of medical centers and resort areas where traditional medicine is actively practiced. This map would become an important tool for promoting medical tourism, creating a single platform for exchanging experiences in the field of sanatorium-resort treatment, and attracting international tourists.

During the meeting, participants also shared their experiences in using traditional medicine in their countries, discussed the prospects for its further development, and explored opportunities for international cooperation. The outcome of the meeting was a set of recommendations aimed at deepening the integration of traditional medicine into national healthcare systems and forming a scientifically-based approach to its application.
