New Horizons of Cooperation in the Field of Rehabilitation and Resort Therapy: Kazakhstan and Russia Join Forces

On November 14, 2024, a meeting was held at the Institute of Resort Therapy and Medical Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the leadership of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "National Medical Research Center of Rehabilitation and Resort Therapy" of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.
The central office of the institute in Astana was visited by Anatoly Fesyun, Director and Head of the Department of Healthcare Organization and Sanatorium-Resort Affairs of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "National Medical Research Center of Rehabilitation and Resort Therapy" of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, President of the National Association of Experts in Sanatorium-Resort Treatment, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor, and Larisa Marchenkova, Head of the Scientific Research Department, Chief Researcher, Head of the Department of Somatic Rehabilitation, Reproductive Health, and Active Longevity, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor.
During the meeting, the parties discussed key areas for further cooperation, focusing on priorities for enhancing research activities, methodological work, and improving the systems of medical rehabilitation and sanatorium-resort treatment. The participants emphasized the importance of experience exchange and the development of joint programs to improve effectiveness in these areas.
It is noteworthy that a Cooperation Agreement in the field of healthcare, medical education, and science has been signed between the Institute of Resort Therapy and Medical Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Federal State Budgetary Institution "National Medical Research Center of Rehabilitation and Resort Therapy" of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.
The Agreement includes the joint development of theoretical and practical skills in organizing medical care, improving its quality, accessibility, and safety in the fields of medical rehabilitation and sanatorium-resort treatment, as well as disease prevention and promotion of a healthy lifestyle.
The Agreement also envisages professional training and retraining of medical personnel, enhancing the qualifications of specialists, and strengthening moral and ethical values within the professional community. The implementation of scientific and technological projects aimed at the development of priority areas in medical science, improving the quality and accessibility of medical care, and promoting international cooperation in healthcare are also planned. Joint projects will be carried out through seminars, the development and implementation of comprehensive medical rehabilitation and resort treatment programs, as well as scientific conferences, working meetings, and other events on mutually interested topics.
The Institute of Resort Therapy and Medical Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan continues to develop partnerships with international organizations.
