In memory of an outstanding scientist and public figure Academician Toregeldy Sharmanov - a legacy that inspires generations

On October 19, on the birthday of academician Toregeldy Sharmanov, a memorial event was held in his honor at the Kazakh Academy of Nutrition. The meeting was also dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Academy and the 30th anniversary of the Department of Nutrition of KazNMU. The solemn meeting was attended by well-known healthcare leaders, scientists, public figures, associates and students of the academician.Among them are the director of the Research Institute of Balneology and Medical Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayagul Kairgeldina and the head of the department of testing and examination of natural resources Natalya Modina.

Academician Sharmanov is a name firmly entrenched in the history of Kazakhstani science. His innovative research in the field of nutrition, the creation of a unique base for scientific research and the development of national policies in the field of healthy nutrition became the foundation for the development of domestic medicine.

Under the leadership of Academician Sharmanov, the Kazakh Academy of Nutrition has achieved significant success. Academy scientists have developed standards for physiological nutritional needs for various population groups and created innovative food products for children, athletes, the elderly and astronauts.
