Meeting with WHO representatives

Representatives of the Research Institute of Balneology and Medical Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan met with representatives of the country office of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Astana.

The Institute was presented by Kanat Tekebayev, Deputy Director for Organizational and Methodological Work, Raushan Dosmagambetova, Advisor to the Director for Science, Marlan Yesilbayev, Head of the Marketing and International Cooperation Department, Baurzhan Madina, Head of the Research Department, and Karlygash Absattarova, project Manager.

Laura Utemisova, National Coordinator of Health Programmes at the WHO country Office in Kazakhstan, Nikolay Negai, National Consultant on Mental Health at the WHO country office in Kazakhstan, and Aizhan Rymbaeva, a public relations specialist, spoke on behalf of the World Health Organization.

The prospects of cooperation in the field of medical rehabilitation and sanatorium treatment were discussed at the meeting. Following the meeting, the participants agreed on the need to further discuss the action plan for the development of medical tourism in Kazakhstan, the standardization of nutrition, joint promotion of the healthy aging initiative, and the study of best practices in industrial wellness. The parties also agreed on mutual participation in information campaigns, evaluation of rehabilitation programs and participation in scientific and practical conferences.

The meeting was an important step towards strengthening international cooperation and exchange of experience in the field of medical rehabilitation and balneology, which in the future will improve the quality of services provided and introduce advanced healthcare standards.
