The principle of continuity in treatment and rehabilitation: from a polyclinic to a sanatorium

To enhance the effectiveness of therapeutic and sanatorium-rehabilitation care, continuity must be ensured at all stages: polyclinic – hospital – sanatorium.

The Scientific Research Institute of Balneology and Medical Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan (SRIBMR MH RK) specializes in the treatment of bronchopulmonary diseases, as well as related cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, and central nervous system disorders.

The Institute is the only institution in Kazakhstan that provides comprehensive medical rehabilitation (restorative treatment) for adults aged 18 and over, as well as children and adolescents aged 10 to 18, at the national level within the framework of the Guaranteed Volume of Free Medical Care (GVFMC).

The SRIBMR MH RK not only provides medical services but also engages in scientific research in the fields of balneology, medical rehabilitation, and disease prevention.

The Institute develops and implements new methods of diagnosis and treatment, conducts scientific research in balneology and medical rehabilitation, and evaluates the effectiveness of treatment and rehabilitation in sanatoria and resorts in Kazakhstan.

Sanatorium-resort treatment is a vital measure in improving public health and plays a key role in maintaining and strengthening the health of the country’s citizens.
