The International Day of the Elderly was established by the UN General Assembly on December 14, 1990 and was first celebrated on October 1, 1991. This day is designed to remind society of the importance of respect, care and appreciation for the older generation. It unites the values of kindness, continuity and preservation of traditions, emphasizing the special role of older people in the development of society. On this day, we express our sincere gratitude to our elders for their patience, fortitude, and dedication to their family and Homeland. Caring for the elderly is not only a moral duty, but also an indicator of the maturity and humanity of the whole society. Congratulations to all representatives of the older generation on the International Day of the Elderly! We wish you good health, long life, attention and warmth from your loved ones, respect and support from society.
